How long is a result valid?
The British Council states that a result is valid for two years. The IELTS partners recommend that organisations accept a result more than two years old only with evidence that the candidate has maintained their English in the meantime. Canada and New Zealand, for example, require a result that is no more than two years old for immigration visas. Each organisation decides for itself how old a result it accepts.
