Test day

What to bring
- The identity document you booked with: a valid passport or national identity card. It must be the same document and it must be valid on test day. Without it you cannot take the test. For IELTS for UKVI, a national identity card is accepted only in the country that issued it: if you take that test in another country, bring your passport.
- Water, if you wish: in a transparent bottle with no label.
You switch off your mobile phone and any other electronic devices and leave them with the rest of your belongings outside the test room. Food may not be taken into the room.
Arriving
When you arrive we check your identity and take your photograph; the British Council states that some centres may also ask for a finger scan. So arrive before the test is due to start. Anyone who arrives late may not be able to take the test.
Addresses and maps: Zagreb, Split, Ljubljana.
How the test runs
Listening, Reading and Writing are taken on computer, one after the other with no break. Speaking is a conversation with an examiner, on the same day or on another day: you see when your Speaking test is when you book. What each part involves: Test format.
Access arrangements
Access arrangements can be made for test takers with visual, hearing or speech difficulties, with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, and with a long-term illness or physical difficulties. E-mail us at ielts@jantar.hr as early as you can: the IELTS partners ask for the request to arrive at least six weeks before the test.
Test takers under 18
The British Council does not recommend IELTS for anyone under 16. For test takers under 18, it asks for written consent from a parent or guardian at booking.
