British Council Slovenia states that only IELTS for UKVI and IELTS Online are offered there, and for the other tests it refers candidates to neighbouring countries. The centre in Ljubljana (Tehnološki park 19) and the centres in Zagreb and Split are run by the same organisation, Jantar – International House Split.
Do I need IELTS for UKVI or standard IELTS?
- For a UK visa that requires a Secure English Language Test (SELT): IELTS for UKVI, in Ljubljana or Zagreb.
- For study outside the United Kingdom, professional registration or immigration to Canada, Australia and New Zealand: IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training, in Zagreb or Split.

Booking from Slovenia
- On the British Council booking site, choose your test.
- For IELTS for UKVI in Ljubljana, choose the country Slovenia. For Academic and General Training, choose Croatia, then Zagreb or Split.
- Enter the details from the document you will bring to the test, and pay. For IELTS for UKVI, a national identity card is valid only in the country that issued it: with a Slovenian identity card you take that test in Ljubljana, and for Zagreb bring your passport.
